Where to provide help for Ukraine
It comes as no surprise to us that in recent days we have been inundated with requests for details on where local people can donate or volunteer to help Ukraine at this difficult time.
IFAW International Fund for Animal Welfare
IFAW rush emergency aid to provide pet food, veterinary supplies, and wages for daily care staff to both shelters in Ukraine, and help protect other animals around the world.
The British Red Cross
The British Red Cross has launched an emergency fundraising appeal in response to the intensification of fighting in Ukraine.
As the security situation allows, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will continue to respond to existing and emerging humanitarian needs. The Red Cross has supported people affected by this conflict for years and this will not stop now.
Your donation could help someone affected get:
- first aid
- warm clothes
UN Refugee Agency
The UN Refugee Agency is working with local authorities and other partners in Ukraine to provide humanitarian assistance.
UNICEF is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have become separated from their families.
Offer a room or home
The Home Office are rolling out the Homes for Ukraine programme, which allows individuals, charities, community groups and businesses to offer accommodation to Ukrainian refugees for at least six months. Sponsored Ukrainians will then be granted three years’ leave to remain in the UK, with entitlement to work and access to public services.
You can apply online.
If you know of any further details of fundraising events then please do make us aware – we’d love to support and publicise your fundraising efforts.
