Voices for Life Brings Christmas Cheer with New St Michael’s Junior School Choir in Twerton

Voices for Life is delighted to announce the successful launch of the St Michael’s Junior School Voices for Life Children’s Choir in Twerton, Bath. Since starting in September, the choir has gone from strength to strength and is now bringing festive joy as they prepare for their first performance at the school’s Christmas Service.

Directed by Katrine Reimers from Voices for Life, the choir includes children in Years 4, 5, and 6, many of whom have previously participated in Voices for Life’s three-month singing and wellbeing projects. Meeting weekly, the choir provides these young singers with the opportunity to continue their musical journey, developing their skills and confidence.

Looking ahead, the choir will also perform twice at Bath Abbey next year as part of Voices for Life’s concerts featuring 200 children, sharing the joy of music with the wider community.

Tessa Armstrong, Founder and Executive Director of Voices for Life, commented:
“It’s been heartwarming to see the children’s confidence and joy grow through this choir. Music has the
power to inspire. And bring people together. Their upcoming Christmas performance is just the
beginning of what they can achieve.”

Rebecca Mellor, Head of St Michael’s Junior School, Twerton, added:
“Our lunchtime choir sessions are such a positive highlight of each week. The delight, engagement and commitment demonstrated by the children are wonderful to witness, their confidence and resilience showing in the beautiful sound they make and their beaming smiles. We are so excited to continue our link with Voices for Life and can’t wait to perform for our community. This initiative continues Voices for Life’s mission to inspire children to be happy and confident through music in a way that makes everyone want to sing, smile and dance”
