Radio Bath’s Akhila Rao is performing at the Kannada Balaga event!

Kannada Balaga UK is the oldest Kannada organisation in United Kingdom. It began with humble roots after a handful of families decided to form a Kannada organisation in 1982. The purpose of the organisation was to get Kannadigas under one roof, to promote the rich culture and heritage of Karnataka and to expose their children to Kannada language, culture and tradition. The term “Balaga” denotes a family – an extended family encompassing all Kannadigas in the United Kingdom.

Kannada Balaga has grown from five registered families to over 800 registered families and counting; there are first, second and third generation Kannadigas actively interacting and participating in events & activities.

The organisation is now turning 40 years old! And are delighted to invite you to attend Kannada Balaga’s 40th Anniversary celebrations to be held on 30th September and 1st October 2023 at Byron Hall, Christchurch Ave, Harrow, London HA3 5BD.

The program has a Royal presence – His Highness Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Maharaja of Mysore, will be the Chief Guest for the event! Iconic personalities like Dr Gururaja Karajagi, Shri Vishweshwara Bhat and His Holiness Swamy Japanandaji Maharaj are the Guests of Honour. To top it all, we have melody king Rajesh Krishnan and team entertaining the crowd to their fantastic music! Our very own Akhila Rao is performing at the event also, and would love to say hello to any Radio Bath listeners who are attending.
