Get set for the Bath Half!

It’s almost time for an annual highlight in the city calendar – The Bath Half Marathon!

The Bath Half Marathon is a ‘big city’ race, starting and finishing in Bath city centre. This course is fast and flat with proven potential to set a new personal best for those taking part.

New Start & Finish location and Course Route changes for 2023

This year the half marathon will start at a new location on Royal Avenue (in front of the Royal Crescent) proceeding out of Royal Victoria Park down Marlborough Lane onto Upper Bristol Road. The course follows 2-laps westbound along Upper Bristol Road and Newbridge Road to the Twerton Fork, returning eastbound along the Lower Bristol Road to Churchill Bridge, and up Green Park Road to Queen Square.

On the first lap from Churchill Bridge you will continue along Rossiter Road, Pulteney Road and into Great Pulteney Street before returning on the same route to Churchill Bridge.

On the second lap from Queen Square you proceed to the finish on Royal Avenue through Royal Victoria Park.

For those who just want to watch and support the runners then there are no shortage of vantage points. Spectators usually line the whole half-marathon route, making it one of the most atmospheric races in the UK. There are some recommended viewing and entertainment points:
