FilmBath Festival Launches First Ever Pay-What-You-Can Tickets
FilmBath Festival has announced the full programme for the 32nd annual festival, taking place at multiple venues across the city from the 4th to the 13th of November. For the first time ever, tickets will be pay-what-you-can in order to ensure that the festival is accessible and affordable for everyone.
Across ten days, the festival will be showing 40 feature films, giving Bath audiences the chance to see some of the year’s most hotly-anticipated films before they are released to theatres. The FilmBath Festival has been a pioneer in showcasing the talents of female directors, and this year is no exception. Over 50% of films at this years festival are directed by women! In 2014, FilmBath launched the F-rating, a symbol to identify films directed or written by women, with the ultimate goal being to change the stories we see on screen and promote gender equality in the film industry.
This year’s line-up is particularly exciting, with films such as Empire of Light, starring Olivia Colman and Toby Jones, and the dark comedy The Menu, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, being just two of this year’s offerings. Venues include The Little, Chapel Arts, and Roper Theatre at Hayesfield School.
