Discover Bath through the eyes of artist Charles Minty
Local artist Charles Minty called in for a coffee and chat with Nikki, after bumping into her whilst working on a recent commission at Bath Abbey.
Charles grew up in and around Bath – so knows and loves the area well. During the pandemic, he made the huge decision to swap his career in engineering to become an outdoor – or ‘plein air’ – painter.
Listen to Charles in conversation with Nikki as they discuss how he discovered his artistic talent, and why lockdown proved to be a turning point in his life that led him to follow his dream and work as a professional artist.
Charles has created a series of paintings called ‘City of My Childhood’, comprising of oil paintings of Bath and Wiltshire which are currently being displayed in the Bath Guildhall until 18th November. You’ll also find Charles’ very special painting of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on display. The exhibition is free to enter, just head along to the Guildhall and ask to see the Charles Minty exhibit.
