Dirty Dancing – the concert, at The Forum
The timeless love story of Baby and Johnny will be brought to life in concert-form next year, as Dirty Dancing in Concert will tour the UK, celebrating the soundtrack that defined a generation.
The 80s classic will be performed by a live band and singers live to-film on a huge screen.
The 13-date tour begins in Brighton on 13th March 2024, before travelling across the UK, taking in a date at London’s Eventim Apollo on 19th March 2024, before its finale at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on 28th March 2024. Tickets for the tour are on pre-sale on Thursday 26th October from 10am, and general sale on Friday 27th October from 10am, available from Ticketmaster.co.uk
Audiences will experience the hit film in a unique and unforgettable way on the tour, which will feature a complete screening of the digitally remastered film with its music performed live and in sync by bands and singers, as well as an encore party following the film performing the greatest hits from it.
Dirty Dancing, directed by Emile Ardolino, written by Eleanor Bergstein, produced by Linda Gottlieb, and starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in their most iconic movie roles, alongside Jerry Orbach and Cynthia Rhodes, was a worldwide box-office sensation when it was released in 1987. Its soundtrack generated two multi-platinum albums and multiple singles, including the Academy Award®-winning Best Original Song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”. Grossing more than $214 million in box office sales worldwide, Dirty Dancing captured the hearts of audiences everywhere.
Set in the summer of 1963, Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and her family vacation to the beautiful Catskills resort, Kellerman’s Mountain House. Intrigued by the staff’s dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), and the vastly different lifestyles of others, Baby finds herself learning to dance while having the time of her life and falling in love. It becomes a summer she never forgets.
