Zandra Rhodes: A Life in Print 18/3/26

Step into a kaleidoscope of colour, creativity, and couture as fashion legend Dame Zandra Rhodes takes the stage for an unforgettable evening of conversation and storytelling. In dialogue with Rosemary Harden, Curator of A Life in Print, esteemed dress curator, this live event promises an intimate glimpse into the mind of one of Britain’s most trailblazing designers.
Zandra will delve into her dazzling exhibition at the Holburne Museum, where her electrifying screen-printed garments from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s come to life on historic Adel Rootstein mannequins, treasures from Fashion Museum Bath’s outstanding collection and generously lent to the Holburne just for this exhibition. Each ensemble is a visual symphony, arranged into ‘hero print’ sections that reveal the evolution of her signature motifs—from whimsical florals to bold geometric statements.
With over 100 collections to her name, Rhodes revolutionised fashion by fusing textile art with garment design. Her creations have adorned icons like Freddie Mercury and Diana Princess of Wales and her legacy continues with the Zandra Rhodes Foundation, with the aim of archiving her life’s work and bringing it to a wide audience.
Hear Zandra’s personal reflections on the inspiration behind her most iconic designs—like the Button Flower coat worn by Joanna Lumley in Absolutely Fabulous, and the sketches drawn from Australia’s awe-inspiring landscapes that shaped her visual language.
This event is presented in partnership with Fashion Museum Bath and supported by Bath Arts Collective. More than a talk—it’s a celebration of fearless fashion, vivid storytelling, and the enduring power of print.
Don’t miss your chance to witness fashion history in conversation.
The exhibition Zandra Rhodes: A Life in Print is on display at the Holburne from 24 Jan until 10 May 2026.
