Trowbridge RFC to host inaugural Women’s 10s Tournament 18/07

Trowbridge Rugby Football Club will make club history on Saturday 18 July as it hosts its first ever Women’s 10s Rugby Tournament, bringing together teams from across the region for a day celebrating women’s rugby, community spirit and live entertainment.
The tournament gets underway from 10.30am, with spectators invited to enjoy a full day of fast paced rugby in a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere. Entry is free and there will be food, refreshments and free parking available throughout the event.
Once the rugby action comes to an end, the celebrations will continue into the evening with a free live performance from popular South West party band The Relayz. The band, who have also entertained crowds at Bath Rugby match days at The Rec, will provide the soundtrack to the evening, with everyone welcome whether they’ve attended the tournament or are simply looking for a great night of live music.
The event comes at a time of remarkable growth for the women’s game. The 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations attracted a record 17.3 million viewers, while social media engagement also saw significant increases across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, highlighting the sport’s growing popularity.
A spokesperson for Trowbridge RFC Women said:
“Women’s rugby has never been in a stronger position, and we’re incredibly proud to be playing our part in its continued growth. Hosting our first Women’s 10s Tournament is a huge milestone for the club and an opportunity to showcase everything that’s great about the game, the competition, the camaraderie and the welcoming community that surrounds it.
“We’re passionate about making rugby accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a lifelong supporter, completely new to the sport, or simply looking for a great family day out, we’d love to welcome you to the club. Come along, enjoy some fantastic rugby, stay for the live music and experience everything Trowbridge RFC has to offer.”
The tournament also reflects the continued success of the club’s women’s section, which has grown steadily in recent seasons.
Anyone interested in giving rugby a try is encouraged to join the senior women’s squad, with pre-season training taking place every Wednesday from 7pm. No previous rugby experience is required, with RFU qualified coaches providing a supportive and inclusive environment for players of all abilities.
Alongside a full programme of competitive rugby, visitors can expect food and drink throughout the day, free live music in the evening and a welcoming atmosphere for the whole community, with organisers hoping the tournament becomes a regular fixture in Wiltshire’s sporting calendar.
