Trowbridge Christmas Lights Switch On 28/11/25

Trowbridge is set to sparkle this festive season as the town gears up for its annual Christmas Lights Switch-On, taking place on Friday, 28th November 202,5 in the top field at Trowbridge Town Park.
The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular lantern parade, beginning at 6:00 pm at the War Memorial. With this year’s enchanting theme, “The Night Sky,” the parade will feature a stunning array of handcrafted willow lanterns, illuminating the park with twinkling light. The procession will be accompanied by the vibrant rhythms of a samba band, dazzling stilt walkers, and festive princesses, creating a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Those wishing to take part in the parade can still collect a free lantern-making kit from the
Trowbridge Information Centre at The Civic Centre, St Stephen’s Place, BA14 8AH, available
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.
After the parade, the Trowbridge & District Youth Band will take to the bandstand in the top park,
building the excitement for the grand moment when the winner of the Mayor’s Christmas Card
The competition officially switches on the Christmas lights. The switch-on will be accompanied by a
festive DJ set and a snow machine, spreading joy and sparkle throughout the town as lights
illuminate both Trowbridge Park and the town centre simultaneously.
Visitors can also enjoy the Sensory Garden, beautifully lit for the occasion, and browse the Christmas Market inside The Civic for unique gifts and treats, and savour delicious offerings from our food and beverage traders along the Avenue of Trees.
4:00 pm – The Civic Christmas Market opens
4:30 pm – The Sensory Garden opens with Christmas Lights
5:30 pm – Lantern Parade attendees collect battery lights for their lanterns and line up for the parade
6:00 pm – Lantern Parade around Trowbridge Top Park.
6:30 pm – Trowbridge & District Youth Band on the bandstand in the top park
7:00 pm – Lights Switch-On on the bandstand in the top park, Church Bells at St James’ Church
9:00 pm – The Civic Christmas Market closes
