Sing for Hope: 250 children set to fill Bath Abbey with music 24/6/26

A powerful and uplifting evening of music is coming to Bath this summer as local charity Voices for Life celebrates its fifth anniversary with a very special concert.
Sing for Hope takes place on 24 June at Bath Abbey, bringing together a massed choir of 250 children from seven primary schools for what promises to be a memorable performance for families and the wider community.
A celebration of music and confidence
Voices for Life was founded during lockdown with a simple but powerful aim, to support children’s wellbeing through singing.
Five years on, the charity has reached over 31,000 children across the South West, helping them build confidence, creativity and a sense of connection through music.
This anniversary concert celebrates that journey and the impact music can have on young lives.
As one child involved in the programme shared:
“When I don’t know what to say, or how to talk to someone else, the songs help me. It’s like the songs give me confidence.”
A special night in a stunning setting
Set inside the iconic Bath Abbey, the concert will feature a mix of well-loved songs, including classics like Somewhere Over the Rainbow, alongside a brand new composition from Musical Director Kate Courage.
For many of the children, this will be their first time performing on a stage of this scale, making it a truly special moment for them and their families.
They will be joined by:
-
Former BBC presenter Ali Vowles as compere
-
Professional musicians
-
Voices for Life Young Ambassador Belinda Gifford-Guy, BBC Young Chorister of the Year 2023
Supporting the next generation
Proceeds from the concert will go towards Voices for Life’s ‘Raise the Roof’ appeal, which aims to give 500 children from under-served areas the opportunity to take part in future projects.
It is a chance not only to enjoy a brilliant evening of music, but also to support a local charity making a real difference.
