Rock veterans unite as Blue Water Giants head to Trowbridge

Aug 17, 2026 | Events

A new band featuring musicians who have performed with some of Britain’s biggest names in rock and pop is heading to Trowbridge this September.

Blue Water Giants will perform at The Old Town Hall Trowbridge on Saturday 5 September, bringing together a line-up with connections to Procol Harum, Simple Minds, Status Quo, Robbie Williams and Tears for Fears.

The band features Josh Phillips, formerly of Procol Harum; guitarist Neil Taylor, whose credits include Robbie Williams and Tears for Fears; Mel Gaynor, best known for his work with Simple Minds; and Status Quo bassist John ‘Rhino’ Edwards.

Together, the musicians have drawn on decades of experience to create Blue Water Giants, combining their own material with music connected to the bands and artists they have worked with throughout their careers.

The Trowbridge audience will also have the chance to hear the band’s self-written single King alongside familiar tracks from their extensive musical histories.

Blue Water Giants take to the stage at The Old Town Hall Trowbridge on Saturday 5 September.

Radio Bath listeners will also have the chance to win one of four pairs of tickets to the show, with details of the competition coming soon.

Keep listening to Radio Bath for music from Blue Water Giants and more ahead of their Trowbridge appearance.
