Radio Bath’s Steve Fountain to Host Charity Tasting Evening at Bath’s Pipp & Co

Oct 8, 2026 | Events

Radio Bath’s Steve Fountain will host a special evening of doughnut tasting, speciality coffee and conversation at Bath’s pipp & Co on Friday 16 October, raising vital funds for children’s bereavement charity Grief Encounter.

The family-run bakery, which opened its café in Kingsmead Square this summer, is supporting children’s bereavement charity Grief Encounter as part of its Baking Memories campaign during National Baking Week.

The special Taste & Talk event will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm, offering guests the opportunity to discover more about the bakery, sample its handcrafted treats and support a charity making a difference to children and young people experiencing grief.

And there will be a familiar face on the evening, with Radio Bath’s Steve Fountain hosting the event.

Doughnuts, Coffee and Conversation

Guests attending Taste & Talk can look forward to an evening celebrating the art of baking and the story behind one of Bath’s newest independent businesses.

The event will include a tasting selection of pipp & Co’s handcrafted mini doughnuts, speciality coffee samples and an opportunity to hear directly from a member of the bakery’s team.

Visitors will learn about the history of the family-run business and discover more about the creativity and craftsmanship that goes into making its popular doughnuts.

With Steve Fountain hosting, the evening promises a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to support a meaningful cause while getting to know a local independent bakery.

Baking Memories for Grief Encounter

The event is part of Baking Memories, a fundraising initiative organised by Grief Encounter during National Baking Week.

Grief Encounter provides specialist support to children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close to them, helping them navigate bereavement and its emotional impact.

Tickets cost £12, with all proceeds going directly to Grief Encounter to support its work with bereaved children and young people.

The charity is also encouraging individuals, schools, workplaces and community groups to get involved by organising their own fundraising cake sales.

Whether it’s a coffee morning at work, a school bake sale or a gathering with friends and family, the Baking Memories campaign offers a way for people to raise funds while bringing communities together.

Fundraising resources and registration details are available on the Grief Encounter website.

Supporting a Local Business and a Worthwhile Cause

Having opened its doors in Kingsmead Square earlier this year, pipp & Co is already making a positive contribution to Bath’s independent food scene.

Its support for Grief Encounter demonstrates how local businesses can play an important role in bringing people together and raising awareness of charitable causes.

With Radio Bath’s Steve Fountain hosting the evening, Taste & Talk is an opportunity for the local community to enjoy something delicious while helping children and young people who need support.
