Pick-a-Pumpkin Express at Avon Valley Railway

Oct 26, 2026 | Events

All aboard for a family-friendly Halloween adventure at Avon Valley Railway!

This Halloween, Avon Valley Railway is introducing its brand-new Pick-a-Pumpkin Express, taking place on Saturday 31 October 2026.

Climb aboard a heritage train at Bitton Station and enjoy a scenic journey along the railway, with a special stop at Avon Riverside where children can choose their very own pumpkin to take home.

Once back at Bitton Station, families can head beneath the station canopy for some pumpkin painting and decorating.

There will even be a few spooky characters joining passengers onboard, but don’t worry — it’s all treats and no tricks!

The experience lasts approximately 50 minutes and is suitable for the whole family, including younger children.

Trains are expected to be steam-hauled, although a heritage diesel locomotive may be used if necessary.
