Help Avon Fire & Rescue Service reduce house fires this Home Fire Safety Month

Avon Fire & Rescue Service is urging residents to take simple steps to protect themselves and their families this September as part of Home Fire Safety Month 2025. |
Last year*, firefighters attended 505 accidental fires in homes across the Service area. Many of these could have been prevented with simple steps, like fitting a smoke alarm or changing everyday habits. That’s why residents are being urged to complete the free Online Home Fire Safety Check this Home Fire Safety Month. It’s quick, tailored to your home, and could save your home from fire.
The campaign supports the national Fire Kills initiative and will run throughout September, with local crews offering advice and community events across the Service area. Remember:
