Dorothy House Launches New Women’s Walk and Major Light Installation Events

Dorothy House Hospice Care has announced a series of major fundraising and community events as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
Among the headline events is the launch of the Dorothy House Women’s Walk: United in Care, taking place on Saturday 4 July in Bath.
The new fundraising event invites supporters to walk together through the city on either a fully accessible 5km route or a longer 12km challenge route. Organisers describe the event as an emotional, uplifting and meaningful shared experience celebrating care, connection and community.
Dorothy House has also revealed details of a new large-scale light installation set to transform the hospice grounds later this year.
From October to December, internationally renowned artist and Dorothy House ambassador Bruce Munro will create Moments of Light, a major evening installation across the Winsley hospice site. Free tickets are now available, with visitors encouraged to make a donation towards the future of hospice care services.
The hospice charity has also announced a number of additional community events and initiatives, including:
• A special open garden event at Well Cottage on the Badminton Estate on 14 June, hosted by the Duchess of Beaufort
• Volunteer opportunities and an upcoming Volunteer Open Day at Winsley on 1 June
• The Dorothy House Big Drop fundraising challenge
• A Peace of Mind Planning Clinic
• A new Spring/Summer newsletter
Dorothy House is also continuing conversations around grief and bereavement through its “Part of Life” campaign, with a recent blog exploring the often-overlooked impact of losing a pet.
The charity, which provides palliative and end-of-life care across the region, is marking fifty years of care and support in 2026.
