Dads travel free on Avon Valley Railway this Father’s Day

Families looking for a memorable Father’s Day outing can take advantage of a special offer at Avon Valley Railway, where dads will travel free on Sunday 21 June.
The heritage railway is inviting families to step aboard its traditional steam trains and enjoy a journey through the Avon Valley, with departures running throughout the day from Bitton Station.
The offer gives one free dad’s ticket with every full-paying adult, concession or child ticket booked in advance, making it an affordable way to celebrate Father’s Day together.
Passengers can enjoy a 50-minute round trip along the historic line, travelling from Bitton to Oldland Common before heading south through the scenic Avon Valley to Avon Riverside and back again.
Along the route, visitors can disembark at stations to watch the locomotive manoeuvre and reconnect to the train, offering a closer look at the workings of a traditional steam railway.
Back at Bitton Station, families can enjoy refreshments from the station buffet or browse the gift shop for railway-themed souvenirs.
Train departures are scheduled throughout the day, giving visitors plenty of flexibility to plan their visit.
For those looking to make Father’s Day extra special, Avon Valley Railway is also offering a selection of dining experiences aboard its heritage carriages.
The popular Bitton Belle dining train will be serving a traditional Sunday roast lunch, while cream tea experiences offer a more relaxed way to enjoy the journey with freshly baked scones, jam and cream.
Dining experiences must be booked separately and are not included in the Dads Go Free promotion.
Advance booking is essential for all Father’s Day train journeys and dining experiences, with places expected to fill quickly.
