Bath Children’s Literature Festival returns this autumn with ten days of family fun

Jul 20, 2026 | Events

One of Bath’s most popular annual events is set to return this autumn, as the Bath Children’s Literature Festival brings ten days of stories, creativity and family entertainment to the city.

Taking place from Friday 25 September to Sunday 4 October, the festival will once again welcome thousands of children, families and schools for a packed programme celebrating the very best in children’s books and storytelling.

Organisers have promised appearances from some of the biggest and best loved names in children’s literature, with the full programme due to be unveiled on Wednesday 1 July.

The festival has become a highlight of Bath’s cultural calendar, offering children the opportunity to meet their favourite authors and illustrators, take part in interactive events and discover a lifelong love of reading.

This year also marks the continuation of the festival’s partnership with Longleat, following the success of last year’s collaboration between the two family attractions.

Festival organisers say they are delighted to be working with Longleat for a second consecutive year, helping to bring another exciting programme of events to audiences from Bath and beyond.

With a reputation for attracting bestselling authors, engaging live events and inspiring young readers of all ages, the festival is expected to be one of the city’s biggest family events of the autumn.

Further details, including the full line-up of authors, ticket information and event schedule, will be announced when the programme is revealed.
