If you’re aged 18 to 21 and currently not in education, employment or training, the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer Programme at Radio Bath – Introduction to Digital Media Skills could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
Our free programme helps you build practical skills, gain confidence and prepare for work in the creative industries and beyond. Whether you’re interested in radio, creating videos, social media or simply developing the skills employers are looking for, we’ll support you every step of the way.
No previous experience needed. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

What you’ll learn
Our hands-on six-week Introduction to Digital Media Skills programme is designed to help you build confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for your next step, whether that’s employment, an apprenticeship or further education.
Throughout the programme, you’ll take part in sessions including:
- Radio, podcast and video production
- Social media content creation
- Communication and presentation skills
- CV writing and cover letter creation
- Job application support
- Interview preparation and role-play interviews
- Confidence building and teamwork
- Employability and workplace skills
- A session with a recruitment agency, offering expert advice on finding work and standing out to employers
- An Employers Forum, where you’ll meet local employers, hear what they’re looking for in new recruits and have the opportunity to ask questions
You’ll also work on real creative projects, use professional media equipment and learn from experienced professionals throughout the programme.
By the end of the six weeks, you’ll leave with more than just media skills. You’ll have greater confidence, practical experience, stronger employability skills and the tools to take your next step with confidence.
Who can join?
The programme is open to young people who:
- Are aged 18 to 21
- Live in Bath and North East Somerset
- Are currently not in education, employment or training

Ready to get started?
The programme runs from July to February, with multiple start dates available throughout this period. Each cohort is limited to 6 to 8 participants, ensuring everyone receives personalised support. Over six weeks, you’ll take part in two-hour sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, giving you plenty of opportunities to build your skills, confidence and experience.
